Blue Ridge VCOA IKEA DAY 3/19/2016 - Sunday, March 13, 2016

Saturday, March 19th at 11 AM all Volvo enthusiasts are invited to the annual IKEA Day gathering.  RSVP to or text 919-417-5019.

IKEA Charlotte, 8300 IKEA Blvd, Charlotte, NC 28262, United States.

IKEA is north of Charlotte in the vicinity of NC-49 and I-85. An easy drive, especially along NC-49. It is an exciting destination.

Enthusiasts will corral in the IKEA parking lot. Look for Bob Sepe's gray XC90 sporting an orange construction cone on the roof. Easy to spot, even without a drone. Because the parking area is huge you may cannot spot the cone; if so, call 919-417-5019.

Other than Swedish modern furniture to gaze at, the event highlight is lunch in the IKEA cafeteria. The Swedish meatballs, sans the traditional horse meat so it appeals to American sensibilities, are the rage. Nothing like them.

Bob has acquired a new VIDA DICE diagnostic scanner and if he can get the software loaded on to his laptop before Saturday, he'll grant your vehicle a "reading."  Not to be outdone, Bob's lady friend will perform astrological readings as well.  Two readings for one, what more can you ask?

Bob, has a second VIDA DICE and is raffling it to club members. Every club member in attendance will be entered for a chance to win this unit, but you must be present to win.  So, get down to IKEA for this event and bring your Volvo friends with you.  If they are not members, forward this email to them and have them visit the chapter web site at

New Website - Sunday, August 23, 2015

I am pleased to announce the launch of the Club's brand new website! After a few weeks of hard work and dedication, by Ken Ingram, I am delighted to officially announce the launch of the Chapter's new website.

This is the new URL and you can view it by clicking on the link:

The old site (hosted by Google) will continue to exist until we can take it down, which has become somewhat of a problem. So, to avoid confusion, bookmark the new site.

Our goal with this new website is to provide club members and visitors with an easier way to learn about the club and its activities, respond to Volvo driver inquiries and allow the visitor to browse information based on their own choice. As such, the new website will offer an interactive forum.

To that end, I am recruiting folks willing to participate in a blog or ??? This is your website, so we all must contribute to its success, even in a small way.

I am also seeking pictures of the Blue Ridge Parkway to use as a banner on the home page. I'd like enough pictures so the banner could change frequently, hence bringing a fresh look. Although, not mandatory, something Volvo (car, truck, bus, or whatever) should appear in the picture. We'll have a picture gallery for these contributions. So, send your best photos.

Future features may include integrated social media links (e.g., Facebook) to foster improved communication with Club members. We will update content with helpful information, articles, blogs, newsletters, Club announcements and the like.

I hope you find the new website pleasing.

I would also like to thank Ken Ingram and Dawn Best who stepped up to donate their time and energy to make this happen. Without unselfish acts of volunteerism, the world would be a poorer place.

For any questions, suggestions, volunteer or comments, please E-mail me.

Thank You!

Bob Sepe
